Site Visit 1 – Wakatipu High School Expansion Project.
Stage 1 of Wakatipu High School was completed for 2018 School Year for 1200 students. It is under a PPP Contract which runs for 25 Years, so the current expansion also had to be procured under a PPP Contract and it will increase capacity to 1800 students.
It comprises 5 Separable Portions:
- North Wing teaching extension
- South Wing teaching extension
- Temporary Relocatable Classrooms
- Internal Alterations
- New Double Gym
Site Visit 2 – Holiday Inn Express – Remarkable Park, Frankton
Working through a 20 month programme with a completion date of late September 2021. Procured through an ECI process with the tendering carried out on a negotiated basis leant itself to allowing time investment upfront to carry out BIM modelling to fully co-ordinate the significant services packages throughout the building.
The structure of the Hotel consists of a Structural Moment Frame and 1000m Raft Slab. The envelope is predominantly curtain wall with an Innowood cladding around the balconies and a combination of stacked Schist and Schist Veneer to the ground levels. The basement of the hotel contains 24 parks, a gym and the staff facilities inclusive of change area, staff kitchen, storage and cool stores. The ground floor consists of the main entrance reception, bar, buffet, kitchen, conference rooms and public facilities with back of house storage area, offices and 130m2 of retail space. The services plant is housed across 3 areas of the building thus being the ground floor, mezzanine, and roof. Levels 1 to 4 contain the guest rooms of which there are 182 in total.
